2. Simple Installation
Installation of an EXTURN thruster is quick and easy. Simply drill a 50 mm diameter hole through the hull for the S/S through-hull fitting (attached to the thruster) which also feeds the required wiring. This through hull fitting is supplied with a pressure-tight sealing which eliminates the need of additional GRP work. Also supplied as part of the installation kit are S/S fixings to be bolted through two 18 mm pre drilled holes. This also includes pressure-tight sealings and provides ultimate security and rigidity of your EXTURN thruster installation. |

3. Minimum Space Requirement
With the exception of the relay and cable run, the bow or stern thruster requires no interior hull space. |
|
|
4. Minimal Noise
With the motor positioned well below the waterline (achieving less cavitation), and on the exterior of the hull (with the usage of rubber pads on all fastening positions), EXTURN thrusters have considerably less noise emission when compared to conventional thruster systems. |

5. Longer Runtime
The exterior motor mounting provides a water cooling affect, allowing EXTURN a longer continuous per hour run time. Depending upon water temperatures, the continuous runtime is 4 minutes, however with short cooling periods the thruster can run up to 25 minutes per hour! |

6. An Ideal Solution
With the elimination of GRP work, EXTURN is the ideal solution for timber hulls or houseboats that have traditionally been unable to install a tunnel thruster for manoeuvrability assistance. |
